Divorce and custody battles are messy--there is no doubt about that. My goal was to always consider the outcome of my children, but the Family Court system and DCF took that option away from me.
See these letters of support from not just the neighbor down the way, but people who were also a part of my children's lives. Despite overwhelming evidence that I was a positive force in my children's lives, I still was attacked by a system that is designed to support "child welfare" and maximize reimbursement from the federal government for the state. If you ask me, the only welfare they care about is if the welfare is going into their bank account.
Ultimately, the state allegedly only makes money from those they can control, manipulate, and string along financially from all the costs ranging from attorney's fees to payments for consultations from the GALs. Derelict parents who struggle with making the ends meet do not suffer at the hand of this corrupt system because the state cannot make any money from stealing their kids, allegedly.
